Sports Injury Prevention Presentation on March 20

Gayle-OlsenBedford Youth and Family Services will host a presentation titled “On Field Emergencies: What the Youth League Parent/Coach Needs to Know.” The program will take place from 7 to 9 pm on Wednesday, March 20 in the Town Hall Multipurpose Room,

The target audience is parents and /or coaches of youth athletes, primarily at the middle school and high school levels. Participants will learn how to prevent head injuries and ACL tears as well as basic injury care and how to know when seeing a doctor is advisable.

The speaker is Gayle E. Olson, a Wellness Coordinator at the Massachusetts General Hospital Health Care Center at Patriots Place, Foxboro, who is a licensed and certified athletic trainer with over 30 years of experience, including work with high school, college, clinical and industrial, Olympic and performing arts athletes. Gayle also provides annual training for the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA).
