Juried by Ayumi Horie, Earthworks: Tradition, Influence, Innovation is a regional show celebrating the depth of history, tradition, and cultural expression in contemporary ceramics, and the ways in which artists continue to expand the field through innovation and reinterpretation. As part of The Umbrella Arts Center’s continued commitment to the ceramic medium, we intend for this show to highlight emerging and established artists working in clay. This show will invite artists currently residing in New England, honoring the skill, knowledge, and diversity of our regional ceramics community. Work both functional and sculptural is included. Calling all Rams! The Shawsheen Tech Alumni Association is excited to announce the grand celebration of Shawsheen’s 50th Anniversary. Alumni and their guests are invited to return to campus and join in commemorative festivities on Saturday, May 11th, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The event will host engaging activities and hopes to be a nostalgic experience. The Bedford Garden Club’s annual sale of native plants and other perennials, various annuals including geraniums, and fresh cut flower arrangements is Saturday, May 11, at the Bedford DPW Building, 314 The Great Road, Bedford. From 9:30 AM to 2 PM. The sale will offer floral arrangements in two sizes that are great gifts for Mother’s Day the next day, Sunday, May 12. Join us for the 50th Annual Yellow Balloon Fair on Saturday, May 11th from 10:00am to 2:00pm. The Yellow Balloon Fair is a tradition beloved by families and members of the community offering homespun games, prizes, food, attractions, and more! This year's highlights include touch-a-truck, pony rides, a bounce house, balloon creations, and a life-sized Candyland game. "Melt" food truck will be on-site from 11:30am to 1:30pm. Tickets can be purchased in advance online and will also be available the day of the fair.
Come one, come all! To the Barn Dance for Haiti! Please join us for this family-friendly social event on Saturday, May 11th at St. Paul's parish hall from 6 to 8:30 p.m.(light refreshments included), located at 100 Pine Hill Road, Bedford MA.
