Please join us for this free Zoom presentation: In July 2022, Tim joined the crew of the sailboat Felicity to sail from Conception Bay, Newfoundland, to Nuuk, Greenland.  Arrangements to leave the boat in Nuuk until next year fell apart, and they ended up sailing the boat back to Lewisporte, Newfoundland.  A year ago, Tim helped sail Felicity from Boothbay Harbor, Maine, up to Newfoundland, in preparation for this Greenland voyage.   Dr. Timothy Allen works as an independent contractor for Relion in Bedford, MA, manufacturer of a scientific instrument that uses an electron beam to make rocks light up

Journey to Oz at First Parish

Please join us for this free HYBRID event -- both IN-PERSON and via Zoom:   Ralph Vaughan Williams (1872-1958) is considered to be one of the greatest of all English composers.  Born in Gloucestershire, England, he showed an intense musical talent from a young age.  He wrote in all genres of music-- operas, ballets, chamber music, secular and religious vocal pieces, hymns, and orchestral compositions, and nine symphonies – all in the course of sixty years.  Vaughan Williams was particularly interested in music from Tudor times and English folk music and carols.  He was almost single-handedly responsible for the resurgence

Vlad Shapiro, a Ukrainian-American from Kviv, will speak briefly about the root causes and current state of the Russian invasion in Ukraine.  Vlad will also provide background on cultural & historical differences between the Ukraine & Russian populations, Ukraine’s place in the global economy, as well as key information about Ukrainian culture and traditions. Pancake Breakfast

All are invited and welcome to join friends, family and neighbors for a pancake breakfast before the Pole Capping on the morning of April 8 from 8 am - 10 am at First Parish on the Bedford Common. There will be pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee served. $5 per person/$20 per family. All proceeds will support Partners in Transylvania.
