Storytelling from the Podium: How to Deliver a Speech that Grabs Their Attention
October 17 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Do you enjoy telling stories? Have you ever done in front of others? Does it make you nervous? You are not alone. About 77% of people have anxiety about public speaking. Would you like to get comfortable with public speaking? Then this workshop is for YOU! From accepting an award, to delivering a eulogy, to giving a sales pitch, or making the wedding toast – there are many times when we may have to speak publicly. You can make it memorable and fun with storytelling! Storytelling is part of everyday life, connecting people to what is important and simplifying our world so it makes sense. In this two-hour workshop, we’ll dig into why public speaking matters and provide an outline you’ll use to craft a successful speech with storytelling. Then you’ll practice by delivering your own impromptu speech. Notebooks, handouts, and pens are provided – but if you prefer to type, bring a laptop or iPad.
