Woman Charged in Connection with Double Shooting in Bedford

Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Bedford Chief of Police John Fisher have confirmed that Jessica Cavallaro, 24, of Bedford has been charged with murder, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury and illegal possession of a firearm in the alleged shooting of her parents this morning on Washington Street in Bedford.

At approximately 9 a.m., Bedford Police received a call from a Washington Street resident who reported that the defendant had allegedly told them that she had shot her parents in a car outside. Upon arrival, police located the defendant’s mother, a 56-year-old Bedford woman, dead inside a car on the lawn of an adjacent Washington Street home.

The defendant’s father, a 56-year-old Bedford man, was transported to an area hospital where he later died. The firearm was also recovered.

Jessica Cavallaro was arrested on scene without incident and will be arraigned in Concord District Court later today.

This is an open and ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, the Bedford Police Department and State Police Detectives assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.

The assigned Assistant District Attorneys are Suzanne Kontz and Mary O’Neill. The Victim Witness Advocate is Cassandra Aviles.
