The community is invited to join the Lane School art classes with public artmaking next week.
Lane School, led by visual art teacher Jen Ferrari, will be participating in its Fourth Annual Lane “Chalks The Walk” (LCTW) from June 10 through 14.
During the week of LCTW, Lane school students will head outside to enhance the school sidewalks with chalk during their art classes. The theme for artwork during the 2024 community building event is “Imagine.”
Ferrari was inspired to bring the now-annual event to Lane School from the global Chalk The Walks (CTW) initiative. CTW “is all about spreading joy, optimism, and inspiration through the magical power of sidewalk chalk,” and is a great tie-in to Ferrari’s art curriculum of building artistic communities.
This year, Ferrari is hoping to expand LCTW from the sidewalks of the Sweetwater Avenue school to sidewalks and driveways around Bedford.
“Work solo or get creative with others,” and join by creating sidewalk chalk art next week. Ferrari encourages the community to email pictures of “Imagine” themed chalk art to add to the LCTW album to her at [email protected]. Read about the 2023 LCTW event for more information.
