With great spring weather and the invitation to enjoy bowls full of sweet delights, many people of all ages came to the First Church of Christ, Congregational at 25 The Great Road for their 73rd Strawberry festival last Thursday night.
This popular event attracted a large crowd of hungry people, ready to devour scrumptious strawberry shortcakes. This treat included fresh strawberries, old fashioned biscuits, and Bedford Farms vanilla ice cream, topped with optional homemade chocolate sauce and real whipped cream. And for those who wanted an alternative, hot fudge sundaes were also available.
The church utilized 25 flats of strawberries weighing eight pounds each and went through 24 quarts of heavy cream and eight five-gallon tubs of Bedford Farms ice cream.
People of all ages had the opportunity to create sidewalk chalk art and play with the bubble making devices.
Ben Knight provided the live musical entertainment.
