Treat your mother to a tour of the Job Lane House at 295 North Rd. from 2 to 4 p.m. on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12.
She can see the “borning room” where five generations of Job Lane wives gave birth to scores of future Bedford residents. See the kitchen where the mothers had to be careful not to get their long skirts too close to the big fireplace while cooking and baking for the family.
Mom can also see the straw mattress where Job and Martha slept.
Visiting the Job Lane House on Mother’s Day is a way to show Mom how much she is appreciated.
The Job Lane Farm Museum gives house tours from 2 to 4 p.m. on the second and fourth Sundays of the month, May through October.
