The Gallery @ First Parish announces its latest art exhibit titled “The World Around Us: The Purchia Family’s Perspective in 3 Mediums: Glass, Oil, and Photography” which is on display through June 28. The show offers visitors three distinct styles of capturing the world around us.
Barbara Purchia started exploring her creative side after she retired from high tech. She has been working with stained glass for more than 10 years and creates both traditional and abstract art.
Paul Purchia has always been artistic. He is dedicating his paintings in this exhibition to the memory of his late friend and mentor Ali Sadeghpour.
Elyse Purchia loves traveling that has encouraged her life-long wanderlust and curiosity. She credits a high school photography class for developing a stronger understanding of the mechanics of using a film camera and honing her skills and individual style.
All three of the Purchias lose track of time trying to capture the perfect combination of color, design, and beauty. They hope you will enjoy the exhibition as much as they have enjoyed putting it together.
The Gallery @First Parish will be hosting a reception from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 11 with the artists. Light refreshments will be provided.
The Gallery will be open during church hours – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays.
