We are blessed to live in the hospital mecca of the world. Some of the best hospitals in the world are literally an easy drive away. Even closer to home Bedford has two hospitals next door. There is Emerson Hospital, which is affiliated with Mass General. And Lahey Hospital which has merged with Beth Israel and is now BI Lahey. For specialty care many people will go into Boston for Dana Farber Cancer Institute, or Mass Eye and Ear, or The Brigham. Still, at least anecdotally, many Bedford residents consider themselves either Emerson or Lahey people.
So, What’s Bedford Thinking? Emerson or Lahey?
