‘Dancing through the Ages’ Musical Program at the COA on May 22

A quartet of local musicians will entertain the Bedford COA at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22 with songs and dances from many eras and countries.

Carol Epple (flute), Elizabeth Connors (clarinet), Brad Conner (piano), and vocalist Ben Sears will perform instrumental dances and songs, both lively and stately. Some of the selections will be Fauré’s famous Pavane, Grieg’s Norwegian Dances, a two-step rag by Scott Joplin, waltzes by Shostakovich, and Irving Berlin’s “Cheek to Cheek” and “Let’s Face the Music and Dance.”

There will not be room to actually dance, but Director Conner encourages the audience to wear comfortable shoes to comfortably tap toes along with the music.

The program is dedicated to the memory of George Epple, whose idea it was to present this collection of music. Admission is free.
