Happy holiday weekend, Ryan McGrath.
The junior tripled home two runs in the bottom of the seventh and drove in the winning run an inning later, as the Bedford High School Buccaneers defeated Boston Latin in walk-off fashion, 6-5.
McGrath, who also pitched the seventh and eighth innings to get the win in relief, smashed his triple in the bottom of the seventh inning to drive in Chase Brazee and Isaiah Triplett to bring the Bucs within a run. Moments later McGrath scored the tying run on a hard base hit by Chris Randazzo, sending the game into extra innings.
With two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning, Drew Siwik, who reached on an error, charged home from second with the walk-off game-winning run when McGrath drove the last pitch of the game between second and short.
The Bucs next head to Wilmington tomorrow for a weekend tournament.
