The Bedford High School boys’ lacrosse team won its first game of 2024 emphatically on Monday, defeating Lowell, 17-0.
Jackson Malio led the scorers with three goals. Aidan Kelly, Ronan Melfi, and James Nichol
tallied two apiece, and the remaining eight were by Ricky Laboy, Lucas Fernandez, Finn
Harrington, Charlie Siciliano, Jackson Tucker, Jameson Baer, Andy Scoville, and Sean Lee.
Registering assists were Nichol (two), Charlie O’Brien, Grady Culhane, Melfi, and Tucker.
“It was a great team effort – we won a lot of 50-50 balls,” said Head Coach Ashley Martel. “The defense played great, forcing a lot of turnovers.
“The team has been working hard all season and we are seeing the transfer of what we’ve been working on in practice now being executed in the games,” Martel said. “We are a young team, so lots of teaching and learning have been taking place this season, and that’s starting to show.”
