The VA Bedford Healthcare System is hosting the Women Veterans Alliance’s annual conference this year. “Women Veterans Engage” will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 27 at the UMass Lowell Applied Research Corporation (UMLARC), Northstar Campus, 55 Old Bedford Road, Lincoln.
VA Bedford is the first VA nationwide to host the Women Veterans Alliance conference. It will be a day of “empowerment, networking, and learning about different resources available from the VA, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and veteran support organizations.”
This conference is open to women veterans, active duty, guard, reserve, spouses, and supporters who can watch online or join in person.
The local agenda includes:
- PACT ACT information
- Toxic exposure screenings
- Health and wellness activities
- VA Healthcare enrollment
- VA disability claims assistance
- A variety of VA programs SMEs
- Information about the MA Women Veterans Network and the Massachusetts Treasury Bonus Division
- A welcome home bonus
The keynote speaker will be Liseth Velez, an Army and Air Force veteran and CEO and founder of LIV Department.
Army veteran Leanna Lynch of the VA Bedford HCS Community Relations will serve as MC.
Virtual speakers include Dare to Rise founder Jenn Donahue, Sane Leadership Inc. founder and CEO Simonia Blassingame, and Victory in Action founder and CEO Dr. Deborah Howell. All three are Navy veterans.
The event will include food, networking, and giveaways. Doors open at 9:30 a.m.
