Bedford was well represented at this year’s 128th running of the BAA Boston Marathon.
The James Gang qualified for the Marathon in the special duo division. James Anderson, 32, lives with a disease called NARS1, a genetic mutation resulting in cognitive, physical, and neurological impacts. He traveled the 26.2-mile route as a passenger in a custom-designed wheeled chair pushed by his cousin Liam Cronin. The duo reached the Copley Square finish line in 4:53:19. They finished 19th overall and 17th in the duo division.
Money raised from the Marathon journey goes to The James Gang organization, founded in 2017 for “pursuing opportunities for inclusion for adults living with intellectual disabilities.” Learn more about The James Gang at https://www.teamjamesgang.com
