We’re doing it! We could Go. All. The. Way.

Bedford has overthrown the reigning champion, Burlington, to qualify for the Final Four of the Minute Madness reading competition among Massachusetts libraries.

Keep logging those reading minutes as Bedford takes on Lunenburg this week in the semi-finals. The winning library team competes for the championship next week.

Reading minutes can be logged in Beanstack through Thursday at noon. Paper reading logs need to be turned in to the Bedford Library on Wednesday at noon to be counted this week.

With rain in the forecast, it’s a great weekend for reading! We can do this!

Information on Minute Madness:

  • What is it? Minute Madness is a friendly reading competition among Massachusetts libraries.
  • Who can participate? Readers of all ages. Readers do not need to be Bedford residents to be counted towards the Bedford Free Public Library team. Recruit your friends, family, classmates, collogues and social networks to record minutes.
  • How do I play? Sign up on Beanstack (a free website/app) or log minutes on paper and drop the log off to the library to be counted.
  • How much does it cost? Nothing! It’s free to join the team. There are also free digital books, magazines, newspapers and audiobooks easily accessible through the bedfordlibrary.net page to keep you busy!
  • What do we win? Bragging rights! But each week you participate, you will be entered to win a raffle (for kids, teens and adults) courtesy of the Bedford Free Public Library. Children can also pick up a sign and tiny Murphy the library turtle stuffed animal in the Children’s Room.
  • What qualifies as Reading Minutes? All reading counts – books, magazines, graphic novels, newspapers, as well as audiobooks. If reading to someone, the time can be counted for both individuals’ weekly minutes.
