We found the missing Depot Park sign. Apparently, a large tree branch fell on it during the recent storm.
The Public Works Department retrieved the sign as they cleaned up the fallen tree debris that damaged the sign and the mounting frame. They were able to straighten out the dent on the sign. However, the frame may have to be replaced.
Unfortunately, they were so busy cleaning up all the tree damage townwide that they forgot to notify us. I contacted them after reading a comment to my last letter by a resident who indicated that they saw a tree fall on the sign.
We are grateful that there was no theft or vandalism as we had feared and thank all the people who replied.
