Stay healthy this winter season, Bedford! As we navigate through this respiratory season, it’s crucial to remain informed about the community’s health indicators. Recent wastewater data from Bedford, obtained from the MWRA Northern sampling location (shown in the graph below), highlights a record high this respiratory season, emphasizing the need for continued vigilance. With an increase in wastewater indicators and COVID rates comparable to last year, it is imperative to stay alert to the current situation.

In September 2023, an upgraded vaccine was released to enhance protection against current variants. If you haven’t gotten your vaccine yet, don’t worry – it’s not too late! Find a vaccine location near you easily by visiting https://www.vaccines.gov/. We want everyone in Bedford to be protected. As we’re only halfway through the influenza-like illness season, getting vaccinated is your best defense – and if you’re feeling unwell, don’t forget to wear a mask around others!
