An Obituary: Terence (Terry) Buckley

January 23, 2024

Terence (Terry) Buckley of Bedford, formerly of Lexington, and of London, England, died on Jan. 17, 2024. He was 78 years old.

Terry is survived by his wife Hallie; his former wife Jill; his brother Peter; his children Holly, Tim, and Dan; and his grandchildren Vincent, Lois, Victoria, Junior, Joan, and Rae.

Terry was born in England and grew up in Merstham, a town in Surrey, south of London. He went on to become a solicitor and worked at the law firm of Webber & Co. in London.

He married his first wife Jillian Applebee in 1975, and they had two children, Holly and Tim.

Terry moved to Massachusetts and married his second wife Hallie Harris in 1989. They had one son, Dan. The family lived in Lexington for many years and moved to Bedford in 2016.

Terence (Terry) Buckley

Terry attended Boston College Law School and worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as an Assistant General Counsel. He retired in 2014.

Terry had many interests. He enjoyed reading, especially history and British mysteries. He also loved music, went to concerts frequently, and liked to crank up the volume on the car radio. He had great personal warmth, a remarkable memory, and a deep, yet understated sense of humor.

But Terry’s greatest loves were his three children and six grandchildren, his golden retriever Lucy, and the game of bridge.

A private memorial is planned.
