Susie graduated from Douglass College (Rutgers University) in 1956, married her beloved George during senior year and worked in market research at Johnson & Johnson until Douglas was born. Then she devoted her life to being an easy-going, fun-loving stay-at-home Mom and wife.

Susie was also the quintessential volunteer, preferring the children’s activities: Bedford Community Kindergarten, Cub Scouts, Girls Scouts, Recreation basketball and baseball coach, volunteer librarian at the Page and Lane schools, class parent, POMS, and nursery volunteer at the First Congregational Church of Bedford as well as a resource adult for the Junior and Senior High youth groups.

Her favorite volunteering position in her later years after George retired was being a Reading Friends/Tutor to first and second graders at Davis School for many years. Sandra and George were also active in the Bedford Council on Aging where they had many friends.

A service of Remembrance will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27 at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 Great Rd., followed by burial in Shawsheen Cemetery.

In her memory, hug your loved ones and cherish them unconditionally. Be kind and God bless.
