Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Services in Bedford

Here are the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services and activities scheduled at churches in Bedford:

FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, 155 CONCORD ROAD, BEDFORD   

Christmas Eve services will take place on Sunday, Dec. 24: 

  • Christmas Worship Service at 10 a.m.

All are invited to attend this worship service featuring the Advent Candle lighting, Christmas Carols, and a message on Unwrapping the Gift of Peace.   

  • Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 4 p.m.

This service features Christmas Carols, a kid-friendly storybook reading, The Christmas Story from the Scriptures, and lighting the final Advent Candle.  All are welcome.

FIRST CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH, 25 GREAT ROAD, BEDFORD

Christmas Eve services will take place on Sunday, Dec. 24:

  • Live Nativity from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 

The nativity story will be on full display in front of the church. 

  • Christmas Eve Family Service at 3 p.m.

A joyful worship service for children of all ages with lessons and carols and an interactive telling of the Nativity Story. 

  • Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 9 p.m. 

A traditional service with lessons, carols, special Christmas music, and candle lighting. 

All services are held in-person, on local TV, and on YouTube.

FIRST PARISH, UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST, 75 GREAT ROAD, BEDFORD                            

Christmas Eve services will take place on-site and on Zoom on Sunday, Dec. 24:

  • All Ages Christmas Pageant at 3:30 p.m. 

Come one and all to a festive service led by the ministry team: Lisa Maria, Rev. Jamie, and Rev. Annie. The Youth Choirs will sing under the direction of Natan Wythe. Together in worship, hear the story of the birth of Jesus and celebrate the messages of hope, peace, joy, and love in the Christmas season. Costumes for the pageant will be given out “on the go” during the story to anyone who would like to help bring alive the ancient story of hope being born in the world. As is the church’s tradition, past members of the Youth Choirs are joyfully welcomed back to help sing “Carol of The Bells.” The service closes in candlelight, singing “Silent Night” together.

  • Traditional Candlelight Service at 8 p.m. (Prelude music begins at 7:40 p.m.)

This service will include a homily by Rev. Jamie Hinson-Rieger; adult choir and soloists accompanied by orchestra performing six different settings of the traditional Christmas text “O Magnum Mysterium” as well as other arrangements of familiar carols including “Silent Night,” “It Came Upon the Midnight Clear,” “In the Bleak Midwinter,” and “O Come, All Ye Faithful.”

LUTHERAN CHURCH OF THE SAVIOR, 426 DAVIS ROAD, BEDFORD     

Christmas Eve service will take place on:

  • Sunday, Dec. 24 from 7 to 8 p.m. – O Come, O Come, Emmanuel! 

Join us for a traditional Christmas Eve worship service as we await the deliverance of all mankind. Jesus has come, and He will come again!

Christmas Day service will be held on:

  • Monday, Dec. 25 from 9 to 10 a.m. – He’s finally here! 

Today, the church celebrates the birth of the savior of all mankind, Jesus Christ. All are welcome for a traditional service of celebration and carols as we celebrate the day that God came to Earth.

St. Michael will hold the following Christmas Masses:  

  • Christmas Eve Mass on Sunday, Dec. 24 at 4 p.m.
  • Christmas Day Mass on Monday, Dec. 25 at 7:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.

ST. PAUL’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 100 PINE HILL ROAD, BEDFORD   

Christmas Eve service will take place on Sunday, Dec. 24:

  • Family Service of Holy Eucharist with Youth Choir and Carols at 4 p.m.
    A festive communion service for all ages, similar to the Sunday morning format with familiar carols led by the Youth Choir, a Christmas sermon by Rev. Chris, Holy Communion, and candlelit singing of “Silent Night.” This service is expected to last one hour and will be live-streamed.
  • Festival Service of Holy Eucharist with Adult Choir and Carols at 9 p.m.
    A nighttime service featuring carol singing led by our adult choir, Christmas sermon from Rev. Chris, and candlelit singing of “Silent Night.” A musical prelude with organ and strings will precede this service, beginning around 8:45 p.m. for those who arrive a little early. This service is expected to last an hour. 

Christmas Day service will be held on Monday, Dec. 25: 

  • Holy Eucharist for Christmas Day with Carols at 10 a.m.
    Join Rev. Thea for a fun and joyful Christmas Day Eucharist
