An Obituary: Judith C. Robinson

December 13, 2023

Judith Claire (Loeber) Robinson died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023.

She was born on Feb. 3, 1939 in Boston to the late Eleanor and Elmer Loeber. Judith was the first of three children with two brothers following. She graduated from Roslindale High School in 1956.

Judy loved to swim, ice skate, ski, dress up, travel, and cook for her family.

In February 1961, Judy married the love of her life, Donald Lamont Robinson, Jr. At Don’s young age, he was already established as a talented and successful news and sports photographer, and later became the New England Photo Editor for United Press International. His job took them all around the country and the world, and they also enjoyed summers at their cottage and trips to their favorite island, Aruba.

They had their first daughter, Diane, in late in 1961 with Debbie arriving in 1963 and Donald arriving in the spring of 1966.

In 1976, they sold their first house in Arlington MA, and moved to Bedford, where they lived and raised their children until Don died in 2004. From there, Judy moved to a condo in Boxborough, and then just three weeks before she passed, she moved to assisted living in Billerica.

Professionally, Judith spent a few years as a receptionist and then a CNA, followed by a 21-year job as an intake and referral specialist for Minuteman Senior Services until she retired at age 70.

Judy was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. “Mimi” was truly the matriarch of the family.

She is survived by her two brothers, Donald and Paul Loeber, both of Maine; her children, Diane Robinson-Lima and her husband Joe, Debbie Stitt and Donald Robinson the third and his wife Mary.

Judy considered herself very fortunate to have a big, happy blended family including seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

The family will privately celebrate Judy’s life in January.
