Town Center Playground Closes for Renovation This Monday, Nov. 13

Construction will begin on Monday, November 13, 2023 on the Town Center Playground renovation project. The Town’s contractors ME O’Brien and Forte Landscaping will be on site throughout the month of November installing the new equipment. During this time the playground will be closed for residents’ safety, and to allow time for the new concrete foundations to cure.

This project is paid for through the Town’s Community Preservation Fund in collaboration with the Department of Public Works and Recreation Department staff. The project will accomplish several goals:

Refurbish and repair existing equipment.
Add new equipment and structures as space/budget allowed.
Add new backless benches within the interior of the playground for user comfort.

Unfortunately, due to the timing of the equipment delivery with the onset of cold weather, the contractor is unable to install the small section of Poured-in-Place “rubber” surrounding some of the new wheelchair-accessible items. This portion of the project will be completed next construction season.
