Bedford’s paramount educational philanthropy, which has raised and distributed more than $3.2 million over three generations, is launching its first fall campaign this week.
CSF of Bedford Dollars for Scholars will be looking for support through its most comprehensive townwide mailing.
Established in 1965, Bedford Dollars for Scholars provides annual scholarship awards to seniors at Bedford High School as well as other high school seniors who reside in the town or on Hanscom Air Force Base. This month’s campaign will entirely benefit members of the BHS Class of 2024.
Awards, announced in May, go to seniors attending two- or four-year colleges or technical or vocational schools. The scholarships are based on merit – academic, artistic, athletic, community service – with amount determined by financial need.
The mailing includes an address to which donors may send checks as well as a QR code for electronic giving.
Bedford Dollars for Scholars still plans its annual spring mailathon in early March, replacing its former weekend of telephone solicitations.
