Bedford students in the seventh grade may now register for the Shawsheen Valley Regional Vocational Technical School District’s annual Project Explore program. The program, which starts in January, is run in partnership with Shawsheen’s district middle schools, and is split into three sessions by town. Registration is filled on a first-come, first-served basis at ShawsheenTech.org.

Project Explore is a free, high-quality after-school program tailored to seventh-grade students residing within Shawsheen’s school district (Bedford, Billerica, Burlington, Tewksbury, and Wilmington). This unique program offers students an opportunity to explore a variety of career options by immersing themselves in 6 out of the 20 vocational-technical programs available at Shawsheen.

The program spans three weeks, taking place from 2:15 to 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Bus transportation is provided from each sending middle school to Shawsheen, and complimentary drop-off service is provided near the attendees’ homes (specific stops are determined before the start of each session).
