As a new administration prepares to settle into the Bedford Town Manager’s office, two veteran staff members have announced they are accepting new professional positions.
Colleen Doyle, interim town manager for the past four months, will be a human resources administrator for the City of Watertown.
Doyle, who formally told the Select Board of her plans at Monday’s meeting, began her career with the town as an administrative assistant in 2012. She advanced to the human resources office, and in 2019 former Town Manager Sarah Stanton named her Assistant Town Manager for Human Resources and Administration.
Doyle, who will be married later this month, will vacate her position on Sept. 12, according to Select Board chair Bopha Malone. Matthew Hanson is scheduled to begin as town manager on Sept. 25. Amy Fidalgo, Assistant Town Manager for Operations, will serve as manager during the interim, Malone said.
Also, Charlie Ticotsky, special assistant to the town manager since early 2020, has been named Deputy Director of the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism. He will finish his Bedford tenure on Sept. 8.
The travel and tourism office is overseen by Stanton as Undersecretary of Economic Strategies in the state Executive Office of Economic Development.
