The 2023 Hanscom Air Force Base Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) Meeting is scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at the Courtyard by Marriott, 270 Concord Road, Billerica.  A virtual option is also available for joining the meeting by computer or phone.

The meeting agenda includes welcoming remarks and introductions, and update on Environmental Restoration Program (including Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) Investigation Update, Hanscom AFB Sites in Northeast Optimized Remediation Contract (ORC), OU-1 Groundwater Treatment Plant Evaluation Update and Site 4 Investigation Update), Hanscom AFB Stormwater Update, as well as Discussion and a meeting wrap-up.

The RAB was established after Hanscom AFB became a Federal Superfund Site in 1994, according to a report by Don Corey in The Bedford Citizen in 2012, and is comprised of Hanscom personnel, their environmental contractors, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) personnel, Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) personnel, Town of Bedford representatives, and local citizens.

For information on joining virtually, email Katrina Harris at [email protected] or call her at 610-494-8044. RAB meetings are held to keep the public informed and involved in the Air Force’s environmental cleanup activities at Hanscom Air Force Base and to provide opportunities for public involvement in its environmental restoration program.

[Editor’s Note: The venue was updated on 10/3/2023 per the organizer’s request.]
