Bedford and Acton-Boxborough battled to a 1-1 tie in Dual County League crossover boys’ soccer play on Tuesday.

Trailing 1-0 about 10 minutes into the second half, three juniors combined on a play that tied the score. Max Mezheritsky, a back, hit a long diagonal ball that was touched down by Vivek Joseph. The ball settled to Captain Spencer Goss, who hammered a 25-yard shot into the back of the net.

Bedford’s best chance to pull out the win came about 20 minutes later on a counter off an A-B corner. Goss sent senior Cy Torrey in on goal, but the A-B goalkeeper made the stop.

Acton took the lead about midway through the first half off a corner kick, and

controlled much of the rest of the period, except for a couple of Bedford shots from senior Captain Miles Herzog hit over the bar. The second half began with Bedford applying much more pressure.

Bedford next plays against Newton South at home at 4 p.m. on Monday.
