Summertime and the Readin’ is Easy! Library Summer Reading Program for Kids and Adults

June 22, 2023

The Summer Reading program at the Bedford Free Public Library that began on Tuesday, June 20 and continues through Friday, Aug. 25 is taking a new turn:

Assistant Director Noreen O’Gara explains: “This year, there is one challenge for all ages which will make it easier for the whole family to take part. There will be different prizes for each age group. Whether you’re a new high school graduate, a retiree, or any stage of life in between, the Library welcomes you to register for Adult Summer Reading and earn points for each day you read. Collect enough points and you will be automatically entered into a drawing for weekly prizes and a final Grand Prize, generously donated by the Friends of the Library.”

For Teens:

For everyone going into Grades 6 through 12 in the fall, you are invited to register for Teen Summer Reading and earn points for each day you read and each activity you complete. Collect enough points and you will be automatically entered into a drawing for a final Grand Prize – a Barnes and Noble gift card.  Additionally, teens can stop by the Reference Desk each day to spin the prize wheel.

Also for teens, there is the MA Teen Choice Book Award reading club on Thursday, June 29. Teens will read from the awards book list and vote on their favorites in September.
