Jim DiNitto is a graduate of the BHS Class of 1960. These are the comments he delivered during the reunion of the Bedford High School classes of 1958 through 1963 at Middlesex Community College on Wednesday, June 21:

“I am honored to stand before you today representing the Class of 1960 in place of our class president Ken Graves who regrettably could not be here. Ken asked me to extend his best wishes to you all.

“I know it’s hard to believe, but almost seven decades have passed since we’ve all been together. Looking around this room, I see the faces of friends and classmates with whom I shared countless memories, laughter, and experiences. Together, we shared the excitement of being the first students to walk the halls of Bedford High School. We witnessed its growth, and we shaped its culture.

“As we reflect on our time there, it is important to recognize the significance of our journey. We were pioneers, we navigated uncharted territory, and we established traditions that would endure for future generations of students.

“Our commitment to academic excellence, sportsmanship, and community involvement laid the foundation for the reputation our school enjoys today. The world has changed dramatically since we left Bedford High School, but the values and friendships we forged there have not. It is those enduring connections that bring us together today.

“We celebrate not only our individual accomplishments, but also the collective legacy we have as the first six graduating classes. Let us remember the teachers who guided us, the administration who nurtured us, and the parents who supported us. We owe a debt of gratitude to those who believed in our potential and encouraged us to be all that we could.

“In closing, let us celebrate the bonds that we forged during our time at Bedford High School, and let us extend our heartfelt gratitude to our alma mater. May this reunion serve as a testament to the enduring power of our shared experiences and may the spirit of Bedford High School forever shine brightly in our hearts.”
