Happy Birthday to Us!

By Elizabeth Hacala, President, The Bedford Citizen

On June 13, 2012, The Bedford Citizen posted its very first article – an Arts and Entertainment article sharing the Bedford Center for the Arts newsletter. In that inaugural month, we posted nine stories. Even in that first month, we were covering news with an impact on the town, from a proposal for the old Travelodge site, to the departure of School Superintendent Maureen LaCroix.

We have grown so much during these past 11 years. There are now times when we post nine stories in a day! More and more of you depend on us to inform you about what is happening in town.

Thank you to everyone who has read, forwarded, written for, contributed to, or otherwise supported The Bedford Citizen so far. We are able to bring the news of Bedford because you have supported us over the years. Whether it is the latest on the new fire station, what a bear was doing in town, or a complicated Town Meeting article, you helped make this happen.

As we begin this, our twelfth year, we pause to celebrate all we have done and all we are yet to do.

Stop by our table at the Bedford Cultural District Celebration this Saturday between 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and say hello. We would love to see you!
