There was an article in the Boston Globe last Monday about the ubiquitous “This car climbed Mount Washington” bumper sticker. Peak cringe? Critics take aim at “This car climbed Mount Washington” bumper stickers – Boston Globe – April 23, 2023.
The article points out that driving up a paved road 7.6 miles to the top is not really all that much of an accomplishment. At the very least one that should not be something to brag about. Still, the bumper stickers are seen everywhere.
