Bedford MADI Fundraiser at Ginger – May 2

April 26, 2023

The Bedford Destination Imagination (DI) will be holding a fundraiser at Ginger Japanese Restaurant on The Great Road in Bedford on Tuesday, May 2.

After earning first place finishes at the state competition, three teams of Bedford students are preparing to represent Massachusetts in the Destination Imagination (DI) Global Finals in Kansas City next month. Bedford DI is raising money to cover the steep cost of registration to attend the event.

A portion of the proceeds from all lunch and dinner sales at Ginger will be donated towards the three teams’ Globals Finals registration fees. All are encouraged to dine in or take out to support the teams and no flyer is needed.

The Space Spies, Destination Procrastination, and The Skittleworms are three of the 30 Massachusetts teams traveling to Missouri to join teams from around the globe for the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) team competition, beginning on Saturday, May 20.

The students from Bedford include seven 5th graders from Lane School, six 7th graders, and six 11th graders from BHS. Nearly 100 Bedford students participated in DI this year – an extracurricular and educational team activity whose season begins each October and runs throughout the school year. The qualifying Bedford teams will join the nearly 1,000 top-ranked teams that have qualified from 39 U.S. states and 23 countries at Global Finals.

Bedford DI is also selling 01730, Women of Science, Bedford retro font, and other t-shirt designs from an online store. The designs can be ordered on short-sleeved t-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, or hoodies from child to adult sizes and a variety of custom garment colors. Shirts can be ordered here: https://www.bonfire.com/store/bedford-ma-destination-imagination/ until Friday, May 12. Delivery is typically within a few weeks of ordering.

Bedford DI thanks Ultragenyx, Massport, and the Rotary Club of Bedford for their generous grants supporting the Bedford DI program. Bedford DI is a 501c3 non-profit organization.
