Time Running Out to Enter Biennial Community Art Show

February 27, 2023

Now is the time to choose what art you wish to submit to the 2023 Biennial Community Art Show at the Bedford Free Public Library. See dates for submitting work below.

The Biennial is a juried exhibit of art by people who live or work in the Bedford area. Art and craft in all media are eligible and must have been created in the last five years as well as not having been shown in one of the Bedford Library art shows.

2-D work must be framed and ready for hanging and, of course, no sawtooth hangers. There is a limit of two entries per person and there is no entry fee.

To get the entry form please go to the library website: https://www.bedfordlibrary.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Call-for-entries-form-2023.F.pdf

Dates for dropping off work in the Library Meeting Room are from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 3 or from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 4 to be juried.

Notification of acceptance of your art will be posted on the library website – https://www.bedfordlibrary.net.

Pickup time for work not accepted will be from noon to 1 p.m. or 7 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 6.

The show will be on view Monday, March 6 through Tuesday, May 9.

Library Director Richard Callaghan said, “After a four-year absence, it is great to have the Biennial Art Show back at the library. The exhibit offers a chance for local artists to show their works and brings in patrons to the library. As the only permanent public space for artists in Bedford, we are always looking for new works to display.”

Please join the Arts Steering Committee at their reception on March 19 from 5 to 6 p.m. to honor the artists who were accepted into the 2023 Biennial Community Art Show.

This year’s show will be juried by Jane Deering from Regis College who has a Post-Baccalaureate from the Courtland Institute of Art, London, UK.
