The Bedford Blue Grades 1-2 Boys Lacrosse team capped a truly impressive regular season with a dominating performance at the MBYLL Jamboree on Saturday in Devens, Massachusetts. As the bookend to an impressive regular season where the boys finished with a record of 7-1, the coaches Jeremy Watkins and Doug Walsh slotted the team in the most competitive division to see how the team matched up against the best and by gosh the boys were up to the challenge.
Tewksbury-Lowell was simply no match for Bedford in the 1st game with the boys winning by a clip of 11-0. The 2nd match of the day was by far the most competitive and in many ways was their most inspired and impressive play of the season as Bedford took out Marlboro Hudson by a score of 4-0. In the 3rd and final game of the day, Raynham was simply no match for Bedford as the boys wrapped the day with a 10-0 victory.
AJ Wendell, Liam Dowdell, and Sanav Ramanathan each posted a shutout as a goalie in their respective games, and even more impressive was the stifling defense in front of them as Bedford didn’t let up a shot on goal all day! The leading goal scorers on the day were Kellen Walsh (10), Luke Bullard (4), and CJ Ferguson (4) with a total of 7 boys tallying goals on the day.
The team was comprised of Phoenix Bertold, Luke Bullard, William Callahan, Alden Dickert, Liam Dowdell, CJ Ferguson, Cole Guerino, William Jeffers, Enzo Manke, Christian O’Connor Sanav Ramanathan, Nishanth Ranganath, Canaan Sabella, Michael Sclafani, Kellen Walsh, Silas Watkins, and AJ Wendell.
Saturday’s performance was a culmination of all of the hard work spent improving their skills throughout the spring. All in all, it was a great day for Bedford as the Bedford 1-2 Black and Bedford 3-4 Blue boys team also competed in the tourney and fun was had by all at the epic tailgate planned by the czar of Bedford lacrosse Chris Rucker.
