With springtime around the corner, Public Works has started its annual cleanup of Shawsheen Cemetery in order to prepare the Cemetery for spring visitors.  This includes the removal of old items that visitors temporarily put out, such as baskets, floral designs, wreaths, and decorations, as well as clearing and cleanup of leaves, branches, and other winter debris.

As people begin to plan a spring visit to the Cemetery it is a good time to review the rules and regulations for the Cemetery.  These can be found online at https://www.bedfordma.gov/department-of-public-works/webforms/cemetery-division. There is also a map to help guide visitors around the Cemetery.

Shawsheen Cemetery is a community place of gathering and reflection for those who have family or friends interred there, or others choosing to respectfully visit.  The resources to maintain it are best employed when everyone adheres to the community’s rules and regulations.
