John S. Janek passed away on March 4, 2022. Mr. Janek was a talented violinist, voted most musical during his high school years when he performed with various symphony orchestras and polka bands in and around his hometown of Turner’s Falls. He was employed as a biochemist at Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston until his retirement in 1991. An outdoors sportsman who enjoyed sailing, hunting, fishing, photography, and the Boston Red Sox, Mr. Janek was also enthusiastic about tractors, music, dogs, woodworking, and the sea. He had a sharp mind and great curiosity for learning.
A wake will be held at the Bedford Funeral Home, 167 The Great Road., Bedford, from 6:30-8:30 in the evening on Friday, March 11. A funeral Mass at St. Michael Catholic Church, 90 Concord Road., Bedford, will take place on Saturday, March 12, at 11 in the morning. Burial will be held privately.
