The Bedford High School Buccaneers fell just a little short after an intense boys’ basketball contest at Westford Academy Tuesday night, falling by a score of 58-54.
The Bucs, now 5-2 on the season, seemed to be fighting from behind for much of the game.
They got off to a slow scoring start thanks to some tough Westford defense, and Coach Anthony Halls inserted Justice Buchannan, Jacori McNeil, and Reidon Ford to provide a spark off the bench.
Bedford was able to close an eight-point deficit to just 23-20 at halftime.
However, the Grey Ghosts opened the second half on a run and led by as many as 12 points. Bedford fought back and actually took a 40-38 lead. From that point, it was back-and-forth, with the Ghosts finishing on top.
