An Obituary: Lt.Col. Charles D. Amidon, Jr. (U.S. Army, Ret.)

Lt.Col. Charles D. Amidon, Jr. (U.S. Army, Ret.) passed away on September 5, 2021.    He served in Vietnam and was deployed overseas many times, including nine years in Germany. While in the Army, he earned a master’s degree in Hospital Administration from Baylor University and became a Medical Service Corps Officer, holding numerous administrative and Inspector General positions. Upon retirement after 27 years of service in January of 1985, he served as in hospital administration in the civilian sector until full retirement in 2000. Amidon was a member of the American Legion Post 221, the Knights of Columbus, Council 5292, and the Bedford Athletic Assoc. where he worked to bring the installation of lights to Page Field and a new surface to the track at the high school.

Private funeral services will be held with interment at Arlington National Cemetery.
