An Obituary: David Ruble Hill

David Ruble Hill passed away on June 29, 2021.  Music and education ran through Mr. Hill’s life. After leaving the US Army, Mr. Hill became an English Teacher, High School guidance counselor, Director of Vocational Education, Manager of a homeowners’ association, and Church Music Director. His avocation in music started as a drum major in the high school band, and included many performances in college musicals, a position as music director in the U.S. Army, and as the choir director at the First Presbyterian Church in Clarence for 25 years. He sang in many churches and other vocal groups and performed with his daughter Judy at Carleton-Willard Village, where they sang many of the old songs from musicals. David had a beautiful tenor voice and is remembered by friends for his moving solos and stirring interpretations.
