With parents, grandparents, siblings, and younger classmates in attendance, the Bedford Children’s Center celebrated its first-ever graduation on June 9. By the time they are seniors in high school, they will become the Class of 2034
Wearing scaled-down ‘Bedford Blue’ caps and gowns, the nine graduates waited quietly for their names to be announced. Each graduate solemnly shook Director Daisy Girifalco’s hand, accepted their diploma, and scampered into the audience to present a white rose to their special guest.
Director Girifalco’s Remarks
Trust me when I say the days are long but the years are so very short. Take many pictures, find humor in the chaos, buckle up and hold on!
These nine young people have had some ride the last 16 months, probably way more eventful than their first 16 months of life. They have powered through a pandemic and returned to school with the maturity and grace of at least a first grader! These young students have a passion for learning, a thrill for playing with their friends, and emulate the BCC mission of being kind, caring and compassionate.
These graduates could not be here today without all of you. Your ability to remain steadfast and strong during the last year is commendable. This is DEFINITELY not what you signed up for, but you faced it head-on and remained supportive of your children and their school community. For this, we say thank you!
Finally to our graduates, 5,4,3,2,1…..!!! BLASTOFF!!! Here you go out of our four walls onto Kindergarten. We love you to the moon, you are forever our babies and look out Kindergarten here they come!!!
Ladies and gentlemen we present to you the first-ever graduating class of Bedford Children’s Center’s Class of 2021.
