What’s Bedford Thinking about Vaccine Passports?

April 26, 2021

With more of the country getting vaccinated against Covid-19 there is growing talk about the use of vaccine passports.

A vaccine passport is basically just proof that you are vaccinated.

Several colleges have already announced that students coming to campus in the fall will have to present proof of vaccination.  Royal Caribbean Cruise lines announced last week that all guests would need to provide proof of vaccination.  It’s predicted that to travel internationally you will have to offer similar proof.  Businesses may also decide whether or not to require vaccine passports.

There already is a growing industry of “fake” inoculation cards.  That’s an indication that at least some people feel that it will become a requirement.  As with most potential requirements, there is a growing backlash.

Assuming that the government can provide accurate proof of vaccination, are you in favor of such a passport?

So we’re wondering, What’s Bedford Thinking?

Vote in the poll before noon on Saturday, May 1. You’ll find it in the right-hand column on The Citizen’s main page, or by scrolling to the bottom of your phone or tablet.
