When cranky kids in the backseat start asking, “Are we there yet?” any parent knows that happy anticipation is about to give way to the complete breakdown of familial order. We respond with the one word we fervently hope will keep things calm: “Almost!”, delivered with a happy lilt that belies our own impatience.
For those of you asking “are we there yet?” with respect to the end-of-year fundraising effort The Bedford Citizen is now embarked on, we are pleased to announce (with the obligatory happy lilt in our voices) that we are there… ”Almost!” As of this week, and with sincere thanks to all of you who have already donated, we are just shy of meeting our goal of $27,500 which will be matched by NewsMatch, a generous Bedford donor, Suzanne and Company, and Instrumentation Laboratories dollar for dollar. Won’t you please help us get the rest of the way by December 31?
