Change of Command for the Bedford Minuteman Company

The Bedford Minuteman Company – September 2019

The Bedford Minuteman Company installed its 2019-2020 slate of officers during a reception on Friday, September 27.

Outgoing Captain James McGinn turned the symbols of the office — a red cockade to mark the Captain’s hat, the ceremonial sword, and the silver gorget — to incoming Captain Chuck Hacala.

A moment of silence was observed to honor Michael Hand, who would have become Captain of the Company before illness set in last year. Hand died on September 5, having served as a member of the Minuteman Company for many years.

In addition to Captain Hacala, the new officers are

  • First Lieutenant: James McGinn
  • Second Lieutenant: Adjutant: Roy Kring
  • Second Lieutenant: Finance: Richard Manley
  • Cornet: Peter Secor
  • Sergeant Major: Marla Flynn
  • Quartermaster: Jeannette Pothier

Former Captain James Ringwood joined the Company’s Board of Directors.
