Reader feedback was very favorable and we are pleased to initiate a new year of student musings under a revised banner, Student Voices @ The Bedford Citizen.
Our invitation is not limited to students attending Bedford High School. If you are homeschooled, attend Shawsheen or Minuteman Tech, or another school outside the Bedford system, you are warmly invited to participate.
The students wrote widely last year – everything from why the Winter Walkabout is so much fun, to the effects of sequestration on local military families, and the ups and downs of the college application process.
If you are a student of high school age living in Bedford we’d like to offer you the opportunity to write for The Citizen under this banner.
You may choose your topic within certain guidelines which we will provide. Your work will be revised and edited as appropriate and will appear with your byline, photo, and short bio alongside your article. Maybe you have something you’d like to say about current events, student life, or observations about Bedford. We’d love to hear from you!
Questions may be directed to [email protected].
This year we are welcoming back writers Ryan Doucette, Hannah O’Connor, James Brosgol, and Lily Nemirovsky. Lizzie Morrow, Olivia Evans, and Jordan Vinh will be submitting for the first time.
Their opinions and experiences are varied and relevant and we are proud to offer a platform for these young voices in our community.
Please look for this school year’s inaugural column by Lily Nemirovsky which will be published early next week.
