Chief Robert Bongiorno is pleased to announce that Officer Marc Lavine and Officer Brian Ricci graduated from the Lowell Police Academy last week.

The officers completed 22 weeks of training at the Lowell Police Academy. Officer Lavine was the class leader for both Platoon one and two. Officer Ricci won a top physical fitness award for Platoon one and was recognized for overall excellence and as an outstanding student officer.

They were recognized at a ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 17.

“Both Officers Lavine and Ricci performed exceptionally at the academy and they should each be proud of their accomplishments,” Town Manager Sarah Stanton said. “The hard work and dedication shown throughout the academy will be invaluable as they begin their roles as police officers in our community and I look forward to watching their careers evolve with the Bedford Police Department.”

Officers Lavine and Ricci will now begin an extensive three-month field training program through the Bedford Police Department before they begin their full duty positions.
