George Patrick Nesbitt passed away on July 16, 2019, at age 96. A US Marine who served on Guam during World War II, Mr. Nesbit and his late wife moved to Bedford in 1950. He was employed by the Department of Defense and then NASA where he was involved in the acquisition of the Lunar Excursion Module’s (LEM’s) landing radar, and the camera that beamed pictures back to earth.
Funeral services for Mr. Nesbitt will be held privately at the convenience of his family.
