Bedford’s intrepid Recycling Coordinator Ed McGrath was at the DPW facility on Carlisle Road all day on December 26, helping residents unload cars full of cardboard and styrofoam.

More than 100 residents brought post-holiday packing material to recycle in huge dumpsters, giving new meaning to Boxing Day, the day after Christmas and a national holiday in the UK and Ireland.

Editor’s Note: Normal trash and recycling collection will take place on Monday, January 31 ~ New Year’s Eve, beginning at 7 am. Curbside collection of Christmas trees will begin in early January.
