With acts of anti-semitism on the rise, with the horrific events reaching out from Pittsburgh to touch local residents, Rev. John Gibbons has said, “Now more than ever, the Holocaust must never be forgotten.”

Kristallnacht, the Night of the Broken Glass, took place on November 9 and 10 in 1938, when Nazis in Germany torched synagogues, vandalized Jewish homes, schools and businesses and killed close to 100 Jews.

As they have for multiple years, Bedford’s Interfaith Clergy Association and the Bedford Jewish Community invite residents of all faith traditions to meet in front of First Parish on Bedford Common for a short service of remembrance.

The group gathers each year with candles, simple prayers, songs, and reflections.  The gathering lasts about 30 min. and will move inside First Parish’s historic sanctuary in case of inclement weather.
