Why two years? A year ago, there were no Seniors on the team. The Juniors had to step up and fill the void. It was a rough season back then. It was a losing season back then.
There were no giants on this year’s team. No speed demons. No “30-points-a-game” outside shooters. There was, however, teamwork. There was, however, heart.
And if you saw tears at the end of today’s game it was only because they cared. For a small town, in the DCL, to finish second in Division 3 North with a record of 13-10, is something to smile about.
Bishop Fenwick’s defense was smothering. Bedford rarely got a second shot. The Bucs scored only one point in the first quarter, which put the team in a hole they couldn’t climb out of. Bishop Fenwick eventually won, 45-22.
Bedford has three Juniors with lots of experience for next year: Julia Palazzo, Joelle DeLia, and Lauren Legere
It’s been a fine season!
